Mid-Autumn Celebration Activity in Nantou Ancient City
Co-hosted by the Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality (Shenzhen Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs), co-organized by the Nanshan District Science, Technology and Innovation Bureau and the Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel (SCIEP), the special event titled “The Ancient Rhyme of Nanshan, the Sci-Tech Innovation of Shenzhen” was held in Nanshan District on September 26th. This Mid-Autumn Festival themed event invited esteemed international professionals from top colleges, universities, research institutions and well-known companies across Shenzhen.These talents from countries including Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Canada, Iran, and Pakistan gathered for a pre-celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The foreign talents embarked on a curated journey through historical landmarks: the Memorial Gateway, the Nantou 1820 Digital Pavilion, the Nantou Classic Cultural Relics Exhibition, the Diverse Homology Pavillion, and the historic Xin’an County Government Office, allowing them to witness how Nantou seamlessly blends its storied past with a vibrant and innovative present. Nantou, in its embrace of modern arts, culture, and creative industries, embodies Shenzhen’s inclusive and diverse metropolitan spirit.
Embracing the traditional Chinese custom of savoring mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the IF GARDEN’s multifunctional hall presents with the craft of mooncake-making. As the master pastry chef kneaded dough, crafted wrappers, and molded fillings, perfectly shaped mooncakes emerged to the delight of all. Their allure was irresistible, as many international guests eagerly engaged in the hands-on experience of crafting these iconic pastries.
According to the head of the the Foreign Experts and Talent Service Office of the Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, the Mid-Autumn Festival enjoys a revered status in Chinese culture, the event aims to offer foreign talents a cherished festival memory and enveloped the genuine warmth and hospitality of Shenzhen.
