Eastern European Academicians Calling Shenzhen “Home”
The “Cooperation Development Forum for Eastern European Academicians (CDFEEA)” of the 16th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) was held in Shenzhen Bao’an Phoenix Academy from November 27th to 28th. 20 academicians and scholars from Russian Academy of Sciences, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan, and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology attended the forum to carry out high-level talent exchange and transfer and cooperation of technical achievements.
New Channels for Introduction of Overseas Talents
According to the leaders of Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, this event was one of the warm-ups of the 16th CIEP. Its purpose was to further promote the exchange of high-level talents and advanced technology transfer between Shenzhen and China and the world. It was hoped that all parties would use the event as a starting point to jointly write a new chapter on learning from each other and mutual benefits.
Human resources are strategic resources for promoting economic development and winning in international competition. As the most innovative and entrepreneurial city in China, Shenzhen, with a broad mindset of “openness, inclusiveness, and eclecticism”, has attracted talents from all over the world to innovate and start a business here, for which it has achieved fruitful results. As a region concentrating European emerging markets, Eastern Europe has a solid economic foundation, abundant natural resources, high level of scientific education, and a good industrial base and industrial education. It is the main gathering place for innovative and technical talents in Europe. Shenzhen is willing to join hands with Eastern European countries to strengthen personal exchange and cooperation, to promote the sharing of human resources, and to accelerate the transfer of technological achievements. Experts from all over Eastern Europe and all kinds of outstanding people were sincerely invited to innovate, start a business, work, and live in Shenzhen. At the same time, Shenzhen will continue to work hard to build an all-round and full-cycle talent service ecosystem, and to create favorable conditions for talents at home and abroad to display their talents.
Two Cooperation Letters of Intent Signed
Shenzhen Bao’an District Government and Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SZIAT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the representatives of the Eastern European academicians signed the letters of intent for cooperation in science and technology innovation and advanced medicine under the witness of the guests and delegates during CDFEEA.
It is understood that Kazan National Research Technological University (formerly Kazan Aviation Institute) will use SZIAT as the scientific research platform to introduce the latest research results of the university’s featured scientific research field. The two parties will also cooperate in research and exploration and seek breakthroughs and developments in technological innovation.
I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State University will use the First People’s Hospital of Bao’an District as a medical research carrier to export Russia’s innovative technologies in disease diagnosis, treatment, experimental medical equipment, and medical equipment. Combined with the innovative research results in the field of biomedicine of SZIAT, it will also conduct extensive and in-depth research in the medical field.
In-depth Exploration on Academic Cooperation
The visiting experts held a high-end academic forum under the theme of “Contribution, Shared Benefits, and Win-win” at SZIAT on the 28th. Eight academicians from Russian Academy of Sciences, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan, and I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State University, and experts of SZIAT shared and exchanged ideas in life sciences, mathematics, physical sciences, and big data. Nearly 300 delegates from colleges, research institutes, and related professional organizations attended the conference to listen and share.
On the forum, the Eastern European guests also learned about the opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship in Shenzhen and some cases of cooperation. Under the theme of the talent conference of “Integrating Global Intelligence and Promoting Joint Development”, the forum showed the broad prospects for cooperation in talents, science, technology, education, industry, and other fields of universities and research institutes in Eastern European countries. It also provided practical suggestions for the promotion of specific projects and academic cooperation.
Investigation of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Environment
During the forum, the Eastern European academicians also visited the professional laboratories of biomedical engineering and big data of SZIAT, and investigated the development environment of innovation and entrepreneurship in Bao’an District. They also visited Han’s Laser Production Base, Taohuayuan Science and Technology Innovation Park, and Bao’an Planning Exhibition Hall.
“Respecting knowledge and talents is the fine tradition of Baoan.” The leaders of Bao’an introduced the innovation and entrepreneurship environment of Bao’an. The signing of the cooperation letters of intent for “scientific and technological innovation and advanced medicine” was not only a milestone in the history of Bao’an’s development, but also a new starting point for recruiting talents, they said. The cooperation between Bao’an and Eastern European countries has broad and beautiful prospects. Bao’an is willing to realize the sharing, contribution, and win-win of the advantages and resources with the high-level talent team in Eastern Europe.
